Lincoln Elementary Principal, Matt Irish, has taken to Facebook to continue to greet his students each morning.
He even has school mascot, Lincoln the Lion with him when they make the morning announcements, recite the pledge and shout out any birthdays.
Irish said he does it to stay connected and continue as much of a routine as possible.
"Every morning we have an opportunity when school is in session to help students out of their cars and give them a friendly greeting or they go into the gym and they walk around with their peers and the adults and they start their day off in a good way so they’re very connected at school and so we thought this would be a great way to keep them connected while they’re not there," said Irish.
Irish said he plans to host a video every morning on their Facebook for the rest of the school year.
"We’re in this together with you we know they’re going through changes and so as the staff at Lincoln, we’re going through changes too, so we just want to let them know we still care and we’re still going to be contacting them every week to see if we can do to help them out and support them and their families in anyway we can."
