Seattle man travels halfway across the country to see first tornado

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. KNOP It was hard to miss on Friday storm spotters fueling up in North Platte.

About a dozen storm chasers from Kansas, North Dakota, California are in the region. Plus, teams from Canada and France too. Even the Weather Nation team is in North Platte

Chasing tornadoes is dangerous business but for one Seattle man he is willing to risk it all in hopes of seeing his first tornado.

Paul Liska tells us he's been preparing for this trip since Wednesday .

He flew into Denver and rented an SUV fully insured and hit the road towards Nebraska at 4 am Friday morning.

"I followed the Dominator in here he was on the freeway and I said, "I'm on that guy" because he knows what he's doing and this is my first time," Liska said. "I've survived myself for many years so."

Liska is following a crew from Canada.
