Semi Trailer Fire Temporarily Causes I-80 Shutdown

Traffic was temporarily suspended eastbound on Interstate 80 between Gothenburg and Cozad Wednesday, August, 30th 2017.
A semi trailer caught fire around 12:30 in the afternoon.
Law enforcement says the tire caught fire then spread throughout the trailer.
The trailer was carrying the belongings of five military families. Everything in the trailer is considered a total loss.
Nebraska State Patrol says no one was injured and clean-up should last through the night.
Traffic reopened around 4:30 P.M. and resumed as normal.
