North Platte, Neb. (KNOP) - Community will be showing support for the families of Sarah Worden and Maddie Makenzie on Friday, November 30th at the Red Cloud Tattoo Company from 4-10 p.m.
$25 pre-designed tattoos, available by walk-in only. All money goes toward the families of two girls tragically affected by a roll over car accident on November 10, 2018.
Sarah Worden was killed in that accident, and Maddie MacKenzie was injured. The volunteer artists at the Red Cloud Tattoo Company said they want to give back to the community. They also say Sarah and her family is friends with many of the artists.
Five artists will be donating their time and talent. They are Profit Harmon, C.J. Smart, Kevin Orr, Zathan Pelland, and Aldon Thompson.
They will offer simple designs: a cross, a heart, an infinity symbol (with or without Sarah's name and date of death), and a couple "cute cat designs," said Harmon, "because Sarah like cats."
The artists encouraged folks to participate, saying that it even if you do not want to get a tattoo, coming down to the tattoo shop and supporting the family - or helping out with paperwork, etc. - would be appreciated.
The artist expect the event to be an emotional one. Harmon said, "We decided to do this because, well, everyone in the shop knew her. And, anytime we can play our part, we like to help each other out. We are going to be donating the money to Sarah's family and Maddie's family, as well. You do not have to get tattooed to donate to the family. If you just want to donate time, maybe come help us out or just be here for everybody. That'd be great."
