Two awarded for going the extra mile in the community

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP)- It was a red and black event for the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation. Two special people were recognized with the "Above and Beyond Award." Sam and Lynda Perry were honored for serving a combined 14 years on Mid-Nebraska community foundation's board of directors. For establishing a charitable fund and supporting many local causes.

Sam and Lynda Perry, the Above and Beyond Award Recipients, said they were honored and humbled.

"We're humbled and very proud to get this award. We're embarrassed kind of and very humbled by this honor because there's so many people in our community that are generous and give so much that we feel would be possibly more deserving," said Sam and Lynda.

Working on issues related to the well-being of children and promoting walking trails around Lake Maloney. The guests of tonight's event enjoyed a dinner, awards presentations, and live music at the holiday inn. They celebrated all who go the extra mile for the community.
