Local UFC fans got a chance to meet one of the sports biggest stars on Saturday in North Platte.

Fighter Justin Gaethje's signed photos, memorabilia and took pictures with fans at the Alive Outside recreation store. Gaethje said his love for smaller communities and wanting to inspire small children is what drove him to North Platte.

"I love small communities, I love the chance to inspire the youth in small communities, so that was my main reason for coming out here, to see the youth," Gaethje's said.

Gaethje's is set to fight undefeated and reigning UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in September. While there is no date or location set yet, Gaethje is feeling confident about his chances.

"I got the chance to fight Khabib, so you know the best in the world, 28-0, about to be 28-1."
