NORTH PLATTE, Neb. KNOP-TV Progress is being made on the third floor of the federal building in downtown North Platte for the new location of the VA Outpatient Clinic.
The near 14,000 square foot facility will double the size of their current facility on east Francis Street.
It will feature tele-health services, tele-retinal care, lab analysis, hearing aid fittings, mental health care and group therapy sessions, as well as physical therapy.
The $3.5 million facility is just one of five outpatient clinics that are getting remodeled across the state.
"It's an expansion of space and we will be able to provide more services that we haven't been able to provide just because of the small space that we are currently in," said VA Clinic Manager and Align Team Social Worker Denise Cottingham.
The project is expected to be complete by mid-2020.
Outpatient clinics in Norfolk, Holdredge, Lincoln, Omaha and Shenandoah, Iowa are also going through similar expansions.
