According to Corporal Tom Courter with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, a 2008 Toyota Sienna was traveling eastbound on I-80 near mile marker 175 around 4:00 p.m. when the driver lost control. The van headed into the median, when the driver overcorrected and the van rolled three to four times.
The 31-year-old female driver had three passengers: her 21-year-old niece, her two year old daughter, and her four year old daughter. All occupants were wearing restraints. All were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Courter said all lanes of eastbound were blocked by the vehicle, and traffic was diverted to use the shoulder to get by the scene for about an hour until Herbst Towing could remove the vehicle from the roadway.
There were no other vehicles involved, alcohol, drugs or speed was not considered a factor and no citations were given. Airbags were deployed and the vehicle was registered to North Carolina.
