HASTINGS Neb. (KSNB)- A Colorado woman is in custody after an incident on an Amtrak train traveling through central Nebraska.

Phelps county authorities say Heather Hellickson, 59, Woodland Park, CO, tried to jump out of a moving train in an apparent suicide attempt.

Court documents indicate that she tried to jump out of a window early Saturday morning as the train was traveling just east of Funk, NE, about 25 miles southwest of Kearney.

When an Amtrak employee tried to stop her, she sprayed him with mace. The report says she also sprayed a fellow passenger with mace.

When sheriff's deputies arrived the train had stopped and Hellickson was found outside. She resisted arrested, but the deputies restrained her.

Phelps county prosecutors have charged Hellickson with two counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of obstructing a peace officer.
