Woman sentenced for stealing money from North Platte Kids' Academy

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Michelle Seidler of Omaha was sentenced Monday in Lincoln County District Court by Lincoln County Judge Michael Piccolo for stealing $33,000 from the North Platte Kids' Academy in 2018. She was sentenced with 90-days in jail, but gets 47 days credit for time served; 5-years probation; and she must pay $250 a month to the Academy's insurance company, each month during probation. She has been ordered to report to the Lincoln County jail on June 10th by noon.

Seidler waived her restitution hearing. And she may be allowed to complete her probation in Douglas County.

Seidler was represented by Attorney Robert Lindenmeier. He told the judge she had shown signs of remorse. Seidler's only statement was to apologize to the City of North Platte and The North Platte Kids' Academy.

She said in court, "I apologize to not only the City of North Platte, but to the North Platte Kids Academy, all of my employees, all of my families and children, and the board. It has taken a lot of people to get through this, I just want to make sure they knew that I am sorry for it.
