NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP)- City staff and colleagues gathered to say goodbye to a legal team with about 40 years of dedication to North Platte. City Attorney, Doug Stack, is retiring this month. His retirement party also recognized the work of his legal secretary Sondra Bond.
Doug has worked for the city for about 40 years and Sondra 19 years. Department heads and employees showed appreciation with food, gifts, and laughs. Jim Hawks says the entire city organization is viewed as a team and have worked together for a long time.
City Administrator Jim Hawks said Stacks was very involved in various areas.
"We just wanted them to know that we'll miss them and like I say we're very appreciative of the time that they've given to the city and the dedication they've shown to the community in their work over all those years," said Hawks.
Hawks wants to fill Stacks position as soon as possible and is looking for a replacement.
