NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - North Platte Community College hosted the Mid-Plains Area All-Star basketball games at McDonald-Belton Gymnasium Saturday.

In the girls game, the Black team jumped out to a commanding lead early. They were up 36-18 at the half, and won the game 65-37. St. Pat's grad, and UNK-commit, Kaleigh Kummer, led all scorers in the game with 17 points, with three three-pointers. Maywood-Hayes Center's Jayden Widener led the Gold team with 12 points. Two future NPCC players played in the game, Janay Brauer had 13 points for the Black team, and Ashley Hassett had 12 points for the Gold team.
For the boys, Jacob Gosnell, who is committed to play basketball at Concordia, led all scorers with 24 points on the Black team. Teammate Braden Space, from Chase County, was second in scoring, with 19 points, with five three-pointers, as the Black team won 76-74 in overtime. The Gold team was led by two Sutherland grads, Ryan Richardson and Cameron Meyer, who had 14 and 13 points, respectively.
