Both NPCC Basketball Teams Handed Losses

NORTH PLATTE, NEB. (KNOP)- The NPCC MBB team saw their two game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday evening against Garden City Community College. The Knights led by as much as 13 in the first half, but gradually saw their lead dwindle.

Courtney Murrell led Knights with 21 points while Tahlik Chavez dropped 24 points for the Garden City CC Broncbusters. With the loss, the Knights record drops to 2-2 on the season. Their next scheduled game is Saturday afternoon when they hit the road to face Cloud County CC in Concordia, Kansas.

The Women's team was also handed a defeat on Wednesday evening against Colby Community College, 68-50. NPCC’s Jalyn Reagans grabbed six rebounds, Emily Joseph scored 11 points, while Ashley Hassett grabbed five rebounds and put up 21 points.

The Knights record now stands at 2-4 on the season, their next game is set to be played in the Hesston College Classic in Hesston, Kansas. NPCC’s first game of the tournament is against host Hesston College at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15.
