NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - North Platte Catholic Schools hired Brendan Lynes as its new athletic director for St. Patrick's High School, the school district announced Thursday.

Lynes is a 2010 graduate of St. Pat's. He is currently the head boys' golf coach, served as an assistant coach on the boys' basketball team, and an assistant coach for the football team. Lynes is the Physical Education teacher at McDaid Elementary, and will remain in that role.

Lynes is replacing current AD, Mark Skillstad, who is retiring after 40 years with the school district.

“Mr. Lynes is a respected member of our faculty and brings with him a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining a strong activities program. He is a great leader of our students and will represent our school very well," superintendent Kevin Dodson said through a press release.
