NORTH PLATTE, Neb. - Bailey Chintala, who played Libero for the North Platte Community College Knights the last two years, has accepted an offer to continue her volleyball and academic collegiate career at the University of St. Mary’s in Leavenworth, KS. Chintala, of Fleming, CO., graduated with her Associates of Arts Degree in December from MPCC.
Bailey played in all 31 games for the Knights this past season and finished second on the team in assists. She helped lead the Knights to a 15-21 record in 2019 and a Region IX championship. Chintala was also named to the All-Region Team and All-Region Tournament Team.
“I chose St. Mary’s because I loved the atmosphere of their program when I went to visit and felt very welcomed by all the girls,” commented Chintala. “I fell in love with the campus during my visit. It also helped that former Knight Aly Comacho went there, so she was able to give me a real sense of what it was like to attend and play for the University of St. Mary.”
NPCC Head Coach Alexa McCall had these comments on Chintala and her upcoming opportunity, “I am excited to see Bailey continue her volleyball career with a solid program. They qualified for the national tournament this year and I think she will be able to help them! She’s a solid athlete and has a passion for the game. We are proud of all she has done for our program and wish her the best of luck as a Spire!”
