NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP)- The Huskers moved one step closer to repeating as national champions Friday.
In a rematch of last year's regional final, the Huskers played the Kentucky Wildcats.
They won the first two sets pretty easily, but in the third, the Wildcats came out swinging.
The Huskers trailed by as many as seven points in the third, down 18-11. But, from that moment on, the Huskers outscored the Wildcats 14-5, including the last five points to win it in straight sets.
After the game, coach Cook gave praise to his players.
"I thought we showed great resilience in game three by making that comeback and winning that game, so great job. But, this team, as i said, has been building all year. They're learning how to win these close matches, we were losing those back in October, close games, so they did a really good job. A lot of the big ten preparation right there is what you saw," Cook said.
The Huskers now move on to the regional final to take on Oregon. The Ducks pulled off the upset on the hosts, Minnesota.
The Huskers beat the Ducks in the second game of the season at Devaney.
The game starts at 5 p.m. central, and can be watch on ESPNU or WatchESPN.
