NPCC Men's Basketball Media Day

NORTH PLATTE, NEB. (KNOP)- The NPCC Men's basketball team hosted their team media day Monday afternoon at the McDonald-Belmont gymnasium. Head Coach Kevin O'Connor enters his 34th season as the Knights head coach, a position he has held since 1985. O'Connor said this year he will look to rely on the Sophomores leadership, this years team has 7 returning players from last season. Luke Christen, one of the seven returning players, echoed similar thoughts from his coach about taking on a leadership role as a second year player. "I always try to lead by example, that's sort of my motto to myself. If I'm not willing to put in the work, I shouldn't expect that of my teammates", said Christen.

With a strong core of players returning from last years 24-5 team, expectations are high. Gary White III, a guard, said he hopes the team can host the Title IX Conference Tournament, which would be a first in school history. The Knights first regular season game is set for October 30th, against the University of Kearney.
