NPCC Volleyball hosting drive for feminine hygiene products

NORTH PLATTE, NEB. (KNOP)- The North Platte Community College Volleyball team is pairing with three organizations to help assist in their project known as the Platte Valley Period.

Family Planning, Rape/Domestic Abuse Program (RDAP) and Platte Valley Women’s Healthcare are teaming up with NPCC Volleyball to help build a pantry of feminine hygiene products to help women in the community. There has proven to be a high need for these products and the Platte Valley Period is trying to help!

The Volleyball team will have a drop box and donation box setup at the beginning of the NPCC Women’s and Men’s Basketball doubleheader against McCook Community College on Tuesday, Jan. 21 in the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium. The NPCC Women’s Basketball game tips off at 5 p.m. and the Men’s Basketball game will take place immediately after with tip-off at 7 p.m.

People who donate feminine hygiene products on Tuesday will receive a ticket for a free popcorn! Knights fans are also encouraged to donate money in lieu of feminine hygiene products, which will be used for purchases to fill the pantry, as well. If there are questions regarding what products can be donated or how to help further, please contact a Volleyball team member or head coach Alexa McCall.
