NPCC basketball hosts Wyoming opponent for double header

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP)- NPCC basketball hosted Eastern Wyoming College for a double header at McDonald-Belton Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

First up, the women's teams were in a dead heat at halftime, but the Lancers pulled away thanks to a strong third quarter.

Poor shooting doomed the Knights in the second half, as they only shot 18.2% in the half.

Nahatabaa Nacona led the Knights with 12 points, she also tied Dehje Belmore for the team lead in rebounds, with seven.

The Knights lost 57-40.

Meanwhile, the men's team looked to improve upon their 7-1 record.

The Knights never trailed in the game, they built a 23-4 lead in the first half, and led 43-29 at halftime.

Three Knights players hit double-digits in points; Jakub Karwowski had 21, Edgars Kaufmanis had 20, and Tim Johnson had 15. Karwowski also added 12 rebounds and five blocks.

The Knights won 82-57, and improve to 8-1 on the season.
