The current Knights won the game 4-0.
"It's just kind of fun to have alumni come out and play, and it's fun for us to play somebody different. We've only played each other for the last two weeks, so it's fun for us to see some different competition, have to learn kind of what they do, and to execute, where we don't really know what their offense is," said head coach Alexa McCall.
Whitney Wurst played for the Knights in 2011, and 2012. This year was her second time participating in the alumni game.
"The school's changed a lot, so it's interesting, but the fan base is a lot of the same. It's nice to see some of the same people come out and watch that have been ever since I was playing. So it's really nice," Wurst said.
With the start of the season coming up, McCall is confident in the balance of the players on the team.
"Right now I think we're pretty balanced. Coaches and I sit down everyday after practice, and I think our lineup changes every day after practice, and so I think that's a good thing for us to have that kind of depth," McCall said.
The Knights will open their season hosting Garden City Community College at McDonald-Belton on Friday, Aug. 23 at 5:00 p.m. They will also play Hesston College Friday, with the start time scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
