NP's MacDonald released from UFC fighting contract

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - North Platte Fighter, Ryan MacDonald is no longer with the UFC.
MacDonald announced says it broke his heart when the UFC released him last week. He plans to look at fighting in Japan.

MacDonald's fought in just two fights in his four-fight contract. His last fight was September 14th when he lost to Louis Smolka by TKO.

MacDonald signed the contract in February.

He has options to keep fighting and he's looking at fighting in Japan for One Fighting. He hopes to fight again before the end of the year. MacDonald says he will keep training and teaching MMA in the interim.

MacDonald says he built a lot of relationships in the UFC. He says, "They had a lot of perks, and I learned a lot about dieting and nutrition."
