With more guys out this year than the last couple of years, Coach Dodson says the Irish's strongest attribute is going to be it's experience returning this year.

Sticking with the run-heavy style of play, St. Pat's hopes to control more of the clock this season and hopefully make it back to the Class C-2 playoffs for the twelfth straight year after falling to Centennial in the first round last season.

A lot of those guys are returning with that experience under their belts hoping it can make up for a little lack of size.

St. Pat's head coach Kevin Dodson said, "We've never been known for our size but we've got guys that work awful hard, they pay pretty good attention to what we're asking them to do technique and fundamental wise. And I think we have 7 or 8 guys on offense coming back with varsity experience and about that same number on the defensive side of the ball."

Senior running back and linebacker Charles Aufdenkamp said, "Getting better all around and faster, bigger, stronger and we've worked a lot on that this summer. But just getting better on our blocking, on our running, on our passing, everything."

Dodson said, "That's always in the back of our minds. We want to play well enough and improve well enough week to week that we have an opportunity to be in the playoffs.

Senior offensive and defensive lineman Talan Mcgill said, "And also, that team went on to win the state championship and we were the 16th seed so I think we played with them alright and kind of proved something to other people."

"We're going to run the ball, we're going to play great defense and we're going to make things happen on special teams," said Dodson.
