MULLEN, Neb.-- The Mullen Broncos suffered only one loss last season staying undefeated until Blue Hill ended their season in the D-2 state semifinals.
Head coach Mitch Pfeiffer will be entering his sixth season as head football coach.
He's led the broncos to only one-loss seasons the past two years and this year they'll be returning 11 seniors from last years team.
Coaches are excited about their numbers saying 31 out of 34 total boys in the school are out for football.
Pfeiffer hopes to take it one game at a time saying their schedule is loaded with good teams.
Well you know just the same thing every year that we want to try and get better each and every week. We're taking care of each opponent as they come week by week and so if things go as planned we'll end up having the same success," says Ffeiffer.
"I want to make it to the state championship and hopefully we can win that but more or less win as a team. Individual stuff comes; it's team team, team," says senior running back Lane Edis.
Mullen opens up their season at home against Hemingford.
