NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP)--- The first time in program history the Lady Bulldogs scored their first ever district win in girls golf.

They came into the competition a five stroke underdog to Millard North and ended up finishing six strokes of the Mustangs.

Sophomore Baylee Steele was the top golfer for North Platte with a 76.
The ladies will head to Norfolk on Sunday for a practice round before beginning state play on Monday.

Head coach Jim Orcutt said, "Well I don't like to have a whole bunch of expectations per say. But I'm sure the girls just want to play the best round that they can and Norfolk course. It's a long course for girls; girls don't get a whole lot of an advantage there and the length of the course."

The Lady Bulldogs are ranked 6th going into state.
