NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP)--- One of our only high school girls basketball teams to qualify for the State Tournament beginning Thursday; St. Pat's going in as the top seed in the D1 bracket.
Head coach Nate Stienike said, "Like all year we're just going to take one game at a time, it's a loaded bracket. We're not worried about Friday because we have to get through Thursday."
Senior guard Gracie Rippen said, "I think now our team has developed a lot more confidence at state, so hopefully that helps us perform better."
Stienike said, "I know the first time we went down to state those girls were pretty nervous, and last year not so much. So I think we can use that as an advantage."
Senior guard Abbi Allberry said, "Mainly our record isn't what shows what our team is all about, we know that state is our main goal, so he knew our undefeated season wasn't a big deal at all, and now our goal is to do something at state."
Rippen said,"It showed us what we needed to work on. I think it was kind of good for us to just get that out of the way so we didn't have that weighing on us."
"There's going to be a lot of mixed emotions, it will be kind of crazy that this is our last time, but, I think we're all ready to play and we're going to go out there and give it our all," said Rippen.
