Two area fishermen are back at it...

Sutherland's Jaron Cooper and Hershey's Keegan Oettinger of the Platte Valley Bass Masters are competing in the Bassmaster National High School Championship in Tennessee which began Thursday.

With a five fish limit, the two brought in three fish Thursday weighting a total of 10.4 pounds.

That puts them in 30th place out of 300 anglers after day one.

One more day of fishing and after Friday's weigh-ins, the top 12 make the cut and advance to the final day on Saturday.

They are about two and a half pounds out from 12th place.

They need to bring in some hefty fish in that five maximum bag tomorrow for a shot at the championship and scholarships.
