This show gives a whole other meaning to the phrase take me out the ball game.

The theme is 19th century baseball, specifically 1864 the year before modern rules were implemented.

No over hand pitching and no protective gear; not even gloves.

They bare hand everything and even go barefoot in some cases.

They say its all for the love of Americas pastime.

"It gives the public a chance to view baseball as it was originally played in the 1860's. It's great family fun it's fun to watch because you do have all these weird rules, you do have some of the more theatrical things that will happen throughout the game and so it does make it a real pleasurable time especially in a setting like this at the Buffalo Scout Ranch," says Cooper "Soda Boots Mikel" a player with the Colorado Vintage Team.
