1. Please provide a brief overview of your background and what drives you to seek this office.
In high school, my involvement with the John Birch Society spurred my fascination with America’s founding. I took great interest in the Revolutionary War, our Christian heritage, where our rights come from, and the role of governments. In fact, I aspired to get into politics very early but was dissuaded. Instead, I opted for a 5-year enlistment in the Marine Corps. After the Marine Corps, I farmed for a couple of years before deciding to pursue a mechanical engineering degree from UW Madison. I worked as an engineering, project, and maintenance manager for a number of companies. In 2011, I accepted an engineering manager position for a biofuel company here in Nebraska. That company went out of business in 2014, but we decided to stay in Nebraska because we really liked the schools that our kids attended and the parish that we belonged to.
I have never lost that high school desire to enter into public office. By 2023, fed up with my representative’s votes on the debt ceiling and policies harming our nation, I decided to act. With ten children, I couldn’t ignore the burden of a ballooning national debt they’d inherit. Thanks to Adrian’s repeated votes, our national debt has increased $26 trillion under his watch. Moreover, Smith’s hypocrisy of opposing the Biden-Pelosi agenda while funding it was glaring. I refuse to accept a future where our children pay for politicians’ negligence, greed, and agendas. It’s time for real change—grounded in our Constitutional principles, not political games.
2. What would be your top three priorities if (re)elected?
There is so much to do to rein in the federal government’s unconstitutional overreach into every aspect of our lives. The most important task is to ensure that the federal government fulfills its obligation to protect our liberties and our founders’ vision. The first God-given right listed in our founding documents is the right to life. Every level of government has the duty to protect life, including the federal government. Although passing legislation to protect life from conception to natural death is of the highest priority, it is not the lowest hanging fruit. I believe the lowest hanging fruit is to secure our border. Now that liberals have experienced what they desired in these sanctuary cities, most want no part of it anymore, so the issue has bipartisan support. The next issue that I would attempt to address is holding criminal politicians and bureaucrats accountable for the crimes they have committed. I would love to see the resurrection of the Committee on Un-American Activities, as the House had between 1945 and 1975. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of corrupt bureaucrats, judges, and politicians that need to be scrutinized. Congress also needs to stop out-of-control spending, eliminate the Federal Reserve, and dismantle the weaponized government. While at the same time promoting trade agreements that benefit Americans, massive downsizing to eliminate unconstitutional bureaucracies, and rejoining Judeo-Christian values as the government’s modus operandi.
3. How do you plan to advocate for federal support for Nebraska’s agriculture industry?
I aim to promote a free market in agriculture and all sectors by eliminating government regulations, bureaucratic hurdles, and compliance expenses. Furthermore, it is essential for the federal government to engage in trade negotiations that benefit American farmers and businesses, rather than prioritizing large corporations advocating for free trade that permits the importation of goods manufactured using slave labor and lacking the same regulatory standards applied to American family-owned enterprises. Free trade, such as our current representative has voted for no less than 7 times, gives advantage to foreign countries and big business while destroying American’s God given right to pursue happiness and reap the reward of our labor. Adrian’s free trade votes didn’t give big business and foreign adversaries enough advantage over Americans, he also sided with Obama to get rid of country of origin labeling to dupe consumers into thinking they were buying safe US produced meats!
4. What strategies do you propose to enhance the economy?
Constitutional government does not significantly affect the economy. When the government operates within the limited enumerated powers granted by the states, there is little it can do to influence the economy. We need to return to this crucial ideology by slashing taxes, eliminating bureaucracies, ending the Fed, and reverting to the gold standard. It is this unconstitutional behemoth that severely impacts the economy through fabricated fiat money, excessive spending akin to drunken sailors, and meddling in every conceivable industry.
5. What reforms need to be made to border security and immigration, if any? How do these issues directly impact Nebraskans?
The United States has strong immigration laws. The problem is the executive branch shirks its duty to enforce them, and the legislature does nothing to force the enforcement of these laws. A republican controlled congress has few levers to force the enforcement of our immigration laws. One of those is to stop funding the government unless the laws are enforced, but our representative is complacent with funding the Biden-Pelosi agenda with no guarantee to close our border.
The influx of millions of illegal aliens affects every American in multiple ways. The open border is an expressway for drugs, human trafficking, and sex trafficking, which impacts every single state. Crime rates are much higher among illegal aliens. The most frightening thing is the number of militant bad actors coming to America that are dispersed throughout every state, waiting to be activated. Nineteen terrorists killed nearly 3000 Americans on 9-11; imagine the destruction that 300,000 trained terrorists will inflict because the traitors in office allowed, no incentivized, this invasion. Adrian also incentivized the invasion by voting against an amendment to defund the welfare given to illegal aliens.
6. What is your stance on U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts such as those in Ukraine and Gaza? Do you support funding for these conflicts or sanctions against Russia?
There is no provision in the Constitution for the federal government to meddle in foreign conflicts. Whether it be funding, arming, or direct military intervention, it is outside of the very specific enumerated responsibilities granted to the federal government by the states. Adrian Smith has voted no less than 24 times to fund undeclared wars, refuse the withdrawal of American troops from undeclared wars, and to shirk his congressional duty by supporting Orwellian NDAAs and AUMFs. These votes have cost billions of taxpayer dollars but much more seriously have cost many thousands of American lives. These votes are a total violation of the oath that he took to support the Constitution. The Constitution protects us citizens against a select few individuals who sacrifice American lives and wealth for the benefit of the military-industrial complex. If the United States is going to engage in military conflicts, a declaration of war by the US Congress is absolutely required. Sanctions are the effective means by which the US can suppress adversaries long before they become legitimate threats.
7. How would you balance being mindful of taxpayer spending and also providing critical services like infrastructure, social security and more to Nebraskans?
My goal is to get the federal government operating within the constraints that it is supposed to. The purpose of the Constitution is to protect our God-given rights, not to steal our wealth and redistribute it. I propose that each of us who have paid into Social Security have the ability to withdraw the amount we paid in, as well as the accrued interest, or turn the amount over to the investment of our choosing.
It is imperative to recognize the sovereignty of each state and that the federal government has been created by these independent states for very specific reasons. Anything outside of these specific reasons is a usurpation of the powers retained by the states; it is the theft of our consent, the consolidation of power for the benefit of elitist oligarchs. Our Constitution is the law that protects us from nefarious people in government from overstepping the bounds defined by the Constitution. We must adhere to it, or it is nothing more than a suggested guideline open to the interpretation of bad actors with the most money and power to interpret it for their personal benefit at the expense of our liberty. Reining the government into the lane that it is supposed to be operating in would cut government spending by at least 80%. Taxes could be cut, regulations would vanish, compliance costs would disappear, American family businesses and farms would thrive.
8. Many Americans are frustrated and distrustful of our leadership in Washington. How can you work to help rebuild trust between Government and the American people?
Thomas Jefferson said, “When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.” Americans are justly frustrated and distrustful of politicians and bureaucrats, not only in Washington but at all levels of government. People are waking up to the fact that these leeches make promises to provide all kinds of services and benefits, but they are receiving only the crumbs from the table while their liberties are being shackled with regulation and red tape. People see that the politicians, bureaucrats, and corporate cronies are colluding to fleece the taxpayer of their money and acquire power for their own benefit. I will work to replace the shackles that belong on the government, particularly by doing everything in my power to hold the corrupt accountable.
