1. Please provide a brief overview of your background and what drives you to seek this office.
Robert McCuiston a conservative Candidate for the position of the 3rd Congressional District of Nebraska. I am not your usual political figure that is a “Yes Man” for the establishment Republican Party in Washington that continues to work for the wealthy. I am a native of Nebraska and have a passion for this state and our Republic of America. Our country is heading in the direction of inequality that has been the norm since the 1970″s and the disenfranchised as well as the middle class continues to suffer like no time in my life.
2. What would be your top three priorities if (re)elected?
Immigration, National Emergency: One of the primary reasons for stringent border control is the paramount concern for national security. Ensuring that immigration occurs through legal channels allows for thorough background checks, preventing potential threats from entering the country. A secure border is a critical component in safeguarding the safety and security of American citizens. Maintaining control over immigration helps protect the economic interests of the country. Uncontrolled illegal immigration can lead to an oversupply of low-skilled labor, potentially depressing wages for American workers in certain industries.
2.b The tax code in the United States is a complex system that has come under scrutiny in recent years due to its preferential treatment of corporations and wealthy individuals. This has led to a growing call for tax reform to benefit everyone, not just the privileged few. Ultimately, restructuring the tax code to benefit everyone would require a comprehensive approach that addresses the underlying issues that contribute to its inequities. While this may require significant changes to the system, it is essential to ensure that the tax code is fair and equitable for all Americans, not just a select few.
2.c Recent partisan deadlock in Congress has hampered progress. A new representative who is eager to cooperate with their opponents can reduce barriers and foster teamwork, which improves governance. Unburdened by partisan politics, a new voice can work to advance legislation that benefits the 3rd Congressional District by finding common ground with colleagues on all sides of the political aisle. By choosing a new representative, the district can welcome new ideas, better reflect its shifting demographics, put accountability and transparency first, encourage voter participation, and end political deadlock. The district has to transition into a new period of leadership that is forward-looking, inclusive, and dedicated.
3. How do you plan to advocate for federal support for Nebraska’s agriculture industry?
The agriculture industry in Nebraska is the Backbone of the State’s Economy and the various crops and livestock are important for the world’s economy. I will work to keep the World routes of trade of Nebraska’s Farms and associated industries open without barriers to keep the Nebraska Ag economy open for business. Provide much needed funding from the Federal Level for developing more efficient ways with technologies when it comes to raising crops and livestock in Nebraska.
4. What strategies do you propose to enhance the economy?
At the Federal Level for enhancing the National & States economy would include but not limited to Tax Reform as for the middle class and the poor to enjoy more of what they earn. In regards to National and State Property Real Estate Taxes, reform is overdue, meaning gentrification is rampid. Property values are based upon where one lives and comes from, meaning someone that is tired of a States Property Taxes moves to a state with lower property taxes in turn raising the property valuations in that state. The entitlement programs need to be fully funded to last for decades and stop taxing people yet again for their Social Security after they have done so at their employment.
5. What reforms need to be made to border security and immigration, if any? How do these issues directly impact Nebraskans?
1st and foremost the current Border Security Immigration laws need to be enforced to the full extent of the Law, little Reform is needed. More Quality Border Agents need to be deployed as well as the National Guard.
Effecting Nebraskans in the sense of working for lower wages, as well as costing taxpayer dollars for support when it comes to living here. What ever happened to law and order?
6. What is your stance on U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts such as those in Ukraine and Gaza? Do you support funding for these conflicts or sanctions against Russia?
I am a Nationalist and a Statesman from Nebraska 1st, when it comes to conflict anywhere in the world where aid is needed it comes in the form of a “LOAN” not a giveaway. When it comes in the form of weapons that belong to our military it needs to be brought back home to America, so it can’t be used against us in the distant future.
7. How would you balance being mindful of taxpayer spending and also providing critical services like infrastructure, social security and more to Nebraskans?
1st to address this question we need to distinguish between the word “Taxpayer” we have the General Public Taxpayers of which contribute 43% to the Federal General Fund and then Corporation Taxpayers which contribute 7% to the Federal General Fund. Many extra large Corporations pay no or get Refunds back from the Government all while touting to cut Entitlements for Millions of Americans.
8. Many Americans are frustrated and distrustful of our leadership in Washington. How can you work to help rebuild trust between Government and the American people?
1st and foremost it’s called “Negotiation in Good Faith” among Congress and Senate Members on both sides of the aisle. 2nd America and its people come 1st we take care of the homeless problem, we care for our veterans that proudly served this country, we bring back the Middle Class Americans and lastly put in proposals to hamper prices that large Corporations can gouge the public for goods and services.
