Voters cast ballots in Nebraska Primary Election

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The Nebraska Primary Election is Tuesday and it is the first state election that voters will have to show proof of identification.

The voter I.D. law was passed on June 1, 2023.

Messenger and Clerk, Alice Nekuda, shares what photo IDs are acceptable.

“You need to bring a Voter ID. That means your driver’s license, state ID, and college kids with a photo ID can use that,” said Nekuda. “There is a list that is listed, so you can be sure to bring the right one.”

For a complete list of acceptable photo IDs, visit https://lincolncountyne.gov/ and click the Voter ID tab. This resource is available anytime, allowing you to check and prepare well in advance. Polls close Tuesday at 8 p.m.
