Sunny, Breezy and Warm Before Fall Makes a Comeback
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A beautiful stretch of fall weather continues across Greater Nebraska, with mostly sunny skies and above-average temperatures through the weekend.
Tonight, will be mostly clear and comfortable, with temperatures dropping to around 53 degrees and light east-southeast winds.
Thursday will bring plenty of sunshine and another warm day, with highs near 81. Winds will increase slightly through the afternoon, with gusts up to 20 miles per hour.
Friday looks to be the warmest day of the stretch, with sunny skies and a high near 87 degrees. South winds will pick up, becoming breezy by the afternoon, with gusts reaching up to 25 miles per hour.
Friday night will stay clear, but winds will become even stronger, with south winds of 15 to 20 miles per hour and gusts up to 35.
Saturday remains sunny and warm, with a high near 85. It will stay breezy at times Saturday night before temperatures cool into the upper 50s.
A noticeable cool-down arrives Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 75. By Columbus Day Monday, temperatures fall into the lower 60s.
A few chances for showers return early next week, with slight chances Monday night and Tuesday, followed by a better chance for showers Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Overall, the weekend starts warm and sunny before cooler temperatures and a few rain chances move in early next week.
